Itinerary

Welcome to Paris! On arrival at the airport we shall be waiting to transfer you to the hotel. You can enjoy your free time until the tour starts, information about the meeting place and start time can be found on the information boards in the hotel reception area. At the end of the evening, we provide transfers to the Montmartre dis­trict. This neighbourhood is known for its painters, artists, and cab­arets. We will also take the cable car to the top of the hill from where we can admire the spectacular views of Paris You can choose from one of the many restaurants offering different types of cuisine and enjoy a relaxing dinner. After this we will return to the hotel.

Today we will take you on a guided tour in which you will discover the history, main boulevards and the breathtaking monuments of the city of Paris. We will stop at the Eiffel Tower where you will have the opportunity to climb up to the second floor of this remarkable wrought-iron monument (ticket admission included). The tour will end with a boat cruise along the River Seine, which divides north and south Paris. Enjoy an afternoon at your own leisure to explore and relax! At sunset you can grab dinner in the Latin Quarter, a very picturesque and historic area where a wide variety of international cuisines await you. We will then return to hotel. Note: There might be very long lines to climb the Eiffel Tower. For operational reasons, if deemed appropriate, the climb can be made at a different time of the day (or on Monday).

We will start the day by going to the centre of Paris, to the area of the Louvre Museum. Enjoy some leisure time to explore. If you wish, we can accompany you to Benlux, one of the most complete and best-known perfumeries in Paris. Note: For those who are interested, an optional excursion to Disneyland Paris is available.

Today we travel to the centre of France, to the Bourgogne region, famous for its wines. Making a stop in Semur en Auxois, a small medieval town listed surrounded by impressive walls. After this we will visit BEAUNE, located in the centre of the Bourgogne region, with its streets full of flowers, hospice and wine museum all points of interest. Time for lunch. Continuing on, we will arrive to LYON in the mid-afternoon, the capital of Roman Gallia on the banks of the Rhône (its historic centre has been declared a World Heritage site). We include a funicular climb to Notre Dame de Fourvière where we have a great view of the city. Enjoy some leisure time to walk around.

Centre of Geneva Next, we have a beautiful stage of our journey as we travel to Switzerland. In Geneva, with our guide, we will go to the Palais des Nations (the United Nations headquarters in Europe) and then to the beautiful Jardin Anglais (English Garden) with its famous flower clock. You can also admire the Jet d’Eau, the tallest fountain in Europe. After lunch, we will continue through Switzerland passing the beautiful Leman Lake (Lake Geneva) and Neuchatel Lake. We will arrive to Zurich in the late afternoon. Note: Depending on the number of travellers from Geneva to Zürich, this trip might be done by train.

We start the day with a stroll in the most populated city of Switzerland, Zurich, the financial and cultural capital of the country. Zurich has twice been declared the city with the best quality of life in the world. After this we will board a boat for a trip on Zurich lake, this will last about two hours. The boat makes brief stops, allowing us to admire the villages along the way. We get off in Rapperswil, a small and highly picturesque village overlooked by its medieval castle. We return to Zurich by train and will see the efficiency and punctuality of the Swiss Railways. Enjoy an evening in the historic centre next to the lake, here you can dine at one of the many restaurants offering a wide range of different cuisines.

Today´s journey has beautiful landscapes with high mountains and lakes. Breathtaking scenery in the region of Interlaken. We will stop in Grindelwald where we will have time for a coffee before taking the cable car up to mountain. We will walk along the winding path which will lead us to the “footbridge over the empty”. Dare to walk along the bridge amongst the fantastic scenery enjoying glaciers all around us. We will take lunch up the mountain (included) before heading back down. We continue to Lucerne, one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland. In the evening we have time to stroll around, enjoying the city and taking dinner before we return to the hotel in Zurich.

We will leave Zurich early in the morning and cut across the Alps in order to reach the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. Alongside the route we will get to see beautiful lakes and snow-capped mountains, Lugano. Arrival in the cosmopolitan capital of the Italian Switzerland built next to its beautiful lake. Time to have a stroll and grab lunch. Next, we will reach the enchanting little town of Morcote famous for its flowery stone houses. We will then travel to Italy. Arrival in Milan where the guide will take us to the impressive Duomo Square. Here you will find a variety of local and international restaurants to have dinner at. Transfer to the hotel.

Today we continue our journey towards Pisa. On a little tourist train, we will travel to the Piazza Dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), where there will be time to admire one of the most alluring and beautiful art complexes in Italy, including the well-known Leaning Tower of Pisa. Then, we continue to Rome, arriving at the end of the afternoon.

In the morning, we will have a tour of the city, which will be a great introduction to “The Eternal city”. We enter the tiny state of the Vatican. The Vatican City is a principal centre of Christianity in the world. You will be able to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. We will also enter the Roman Coliseum (admission price included), the principal symbol of Rome. This impressive con­struction dates back 2,000 years and will transport us in time so that we can learn about ancient society in the Roman Empire. In the evening we will transfer you to the Via Cavour area, where you will find many interna­tional restaurants to enjoy your dinner at. After dinner return to the hotel.

ILLUMINATED PARIS T22

In some of our trips and, depending on the arrival schedules in Paris, this programme is offered to enjoy your first night in Paris. In this tour, you will admire the Cité de la Lumiére. We will go on a city tour of Paris. We will have the chance to discover the city marvels of this great cities through its most famous arteries. The city is dimly illuminated at night reproducing the old gas lights and enhancing the city’s architecture. We will cross the bridges over the Seine river. We will stop at the Place de Trocadéro to behold one of most beautiful perspectives of Paris. Depending on traffic, we will offer other stops where you will enjoy this city at night.

LATIN QUARTER AND SENA CRUISE

In this activity we will have the opportunity to visit two parts of Paris. On the one hand, we will visit the historic heart of the city walking through the charming streets of the Latin Quarter. In these streets we can discover important points such as the University of Sorbonne, the Cluny Thermal Baths and the Medieval Museum of Paris, the Church of Sant Severine, the Sant Julien-Le Pauvre Church and then the Island of the Cité where we will visit in its part external one of the most important works of France, great work of gothic art, made by Sully in the S XII, Cathedral of Notre-Dame, stroll along its quays admiring buildings such as the conservagerie, medieval palace and former residence of the kings of France and the wonderful building of the Hotel de Ville. With our bus we will travel to the west of Paris to make the cruise by the river Seine, this tour will allow us to enjoy a different view of the main monuments that are on both shores crossing its numerous and admired bridges. NOTE: Due to the fire in the Cathedral we will visit this monument externally.

More than 100 artists on stage, including 60 dancers from around the world, gigantic aquarium, international attractions and the famous French Cancan. LOUVRE MUSEUM GM T20

This museum, besides being the best-known gallery in the world, brings together admirable archaeological and sculptural works. Due to the large size of this museum and its huge number of works of art we suggest you take a guided tour that will allow you to see some of the most important works of its interior. Our selective tour will take you from the medieval Louvre, Egyptian Sphinx, Greco-Roman sculptures, including the famous Venus del Milo, summer apartments of Anne of Austria and Cardinal Mazarin, until you reach the Victory of Samothrace. We will also visit the part of western painting, the primitive Italians: Cimabue and Ghiotto, following by the Grande Galería where at this moment we can see “The Virgin of the Rocks” by Leonardo da Vinci. Next, we will admire “The Wedding of Cana” by Verones and the most famous painting of the “La Gioconda” museum. Another part of the museum that we will have the opportunity to see with our guide is the Gallery of French Painting, where we can see “The raft of the jellyfish” by Gericault, “Liberty guiding the people” by Delacroix, “The coronation of Napoleon ” from David. Next, we will go to the Apollo Gallery where we will find goldsmith objects and some of “the Crown Jewels”, the Gallery of the Guards, where we will find Etruscan and Roman jewels. And finally, another of the parties we visited are the apartments of Napoleon III with its splendid furniture..

BAROQUE ROME T20

This excursion is essential to complete your stay in Rome. You can enjoy the great Rome of Bernini and Borromini, the great baroque Rome with its beautiful fountains, squares and obelisks. That Rome that the Popes created. We will make a complete tour knowing: Lungotevere, Ara Pacis, Porta Pinciana, Via Veneto, Plaza de España with its wonderful fountain of the boat and its staircase Trinidad de los Montes, Fontana de Trevi where you can fulfill the rite of throwing your coin, Piazza Colona , Pantheon, possibly the best preserved archaeological temple of ancient Rome and we will finish in the extraordinary Piazza Navona. An important part of this excursion is done on foot enjoying the center and heart of Rome.

VATICAN MUSEUMS, SISTINE CHAPEL AND ST. PETER’S BASILICA

We will begin the tour at the huge St. Peters Square embraced by hundreds of columns in the shape of arms spread open to embrace the world. After listening to the history of the square, we have a 10 minutes’ walk to the entrance of the Vatican Museums. After passing through the walls which mark the boarder of the Vatican State, our guide will lead is through the corridors and patios of the Papal Palaces, with one of the most important art collections in the world. For this reason, it is today known as the Vatican Museums.

Through this privileged journey through time and art, we will arrive at one of the most important places in the Catholic world, the Sistine Chapel where the election of the Pope is taking place and with walls covered by sublime works of art by the greatest Renaissance painters.

Our priority entrance ticket will allow us access directly from the Sistine Chapel to the St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest Christian temple in the world and undoubtedly one of the most spectacular and grandiose buildings that you can visit in entire Europe. We finish our visit in the Vatican state, one of the most memorable and emotional places of trip around Europe, by going back to St. Peter´s Square and thereby
re-entering Italy.
